A tool guide locator for use with a jig comprises a tool holding body 12 with a central axis, along which is aligned a tool receiving cavity 34 which has means for securing a tool shank, at least one pair of concentric inner and outer members 16, 18 separated by anti-friction means, in the form of balls 32, the inner member(s) 16 being secured to the tool-holder body and the outer member having a cylindrical locating surface, which extends radially farther from the axis than the outer surface of the tool holder body and is co-operable with an internal surface 36 of a jig. The means for attaching a tool in the cavity 34 may be a set-screw 28 or by collets 50a, 50b attached to the tool holder body 12. Screw means may also be provided to permit adjustment of the depth of the tool which in the particular embodiment described is a drill. The anti-friction means may also alternatively be rollers or other anti-friction medium to facilitate free relative rotation between the concentric members. |
