PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a case where a gradation correction table is produced from the improper data about a printer whose density characteristic is varied by the environmental variance, etc. SOLUTION: A test chart where a gradation pattern is recorded is read by a scanner 107 and an error of the luminance signal outputted from the scanner 107 is detected. Thus, an improper state is decided. Under such conditions, a gradation correction table is not produced and another gradation correction table that is previously stored in a storage is used. |
