PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a large discharge capacity of a battery in lower temperatures. SOLUTION: In a non-aqueous electrolytic solution battery in which a positive electrode active material is LiCo(1-x)MxO2(0<=x<1), prior to performing a usual supply of electricity to a load, the temperature is made to rise with the battery until the cell temperature reaches -5 deg.C by letting discharge electricity with its own electric power.
