PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver that receives audio data and a program which includes multiplex information related to the audio data and displays the multiplex information and a broadcast reception method, that receives the program and displays the multiplex information and by which unnecessary operations of the receiver and a load of reading the multiplex information can be relieved. SOLUTION: The method for receiving a broadcast of this invention includes a step, where the multiplex information is automatically acquired and displayed (claims 1, 7), a step where a display operation of the multiplex information by the user is invalidated when no multiplex information is included in a broadcast program (claims 2, 8), a step where the number of sets of the multiplex information of the same contents received continuously is counted and the display of the multiplex information is stopped, when number of sets of the multiplex information of the same contents exceeds a prescribed number (claims 3, 9), or a step where the user is informed of changed contents of the multiplex information, when the contents of a plurality of sets of the multiplex information received continuously differ from each other (claim 4). Thus this method relieves load on the user for the unnecessary operations of the receiver and for reading the multiplex information.
