PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal gasket preventing a liquid gasket agent from sticking to an elastic seal member mounted on the internal circumferential edge of an opening for a chain for the metal gasket used for a joining seal including a three-face superimposed part among a cylinder head, a chin case, and a cylinder block in the engine of the chain drive. SOLUTION: This metal gasket is so constituted that an elastic seal member 7 is mounted on the internal circumferential edge of an opening 4 for the chain for the metal gasket, and a through hole 8 capable of storing overflowed liquid gasket agent in fastening is provided in a metal plate part outside the elastic seal member 7.
