PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule and an optical connector that can be easily assembled with high precision and with reduced assembling time. SOLUTION: The ferrule 10 consists of a cylindrical body 20 for holding the end of an optical fiber, a holder part 30 provided at the rear end of the cylindrical body 20 to hold a coated optical fiber, and a flange member 40 having a through-hole 41 into which the holder part 30 is insertable and having grooves 42 for positioning relative to an optical connector housing. In this ferrule 10, the holder part 30 and the flange member 40 are fixed by welding or fusing.
