The vehicle seat belt mechanism has a clamp which sits in a cage ring (14) to give a torque transmission coupling from the outer ring (10) and shaft (12) when the pyrotechnic actuator is triggered. The clamp is released when the rotation is complete. The outer ring (10) has clamping surfaces (22) which run radially outwards on the clamping rollers (16) to press them against the shaft (12).
