A method of fitting a dashboard into a vehicle shell during the assembly process has tags (18) each side of the dashboard aligned onto support brackets (16) on the door pillars each side of the dashboard. The tags are secured to the brackets by fasteners with integral alignment adjusters. These are reached by an adjusting tool (58) which moves the eccentric adjusters for accurate final alignment of the dashboard.
