The cover (2), designed to protect an operative from inhaling dust produced e.g. by an abrasive tool, is in an inverted U-shape with side apertures (5) to receive the hands and forearms, and a transparent front window (9) for viewing the workpiece. The cover is held on any flat surface (8) by a projecting rear support plate (6) of brushed stainless steel able to slide in a counterweight (7) resting on the surface, e.g. with a layer of a synthetic or similar material between the plate and counterweight to provide friction.
