An electromagnetic switching device has a housing (2) into which a withdrawable unit (4) can be inserted, the latter comprising a bobbin (12) for a coil, as well as a release or triggering device mounted on a housing part (40) of the withdrawable unit (4) for mechanical actuation of the switching element (30) of an electrical switch (24) for an economy connection on a carrier structure arranged in the withdrawable unit (4). A support contour (70) rests on a bearing contour (72) of the housing part (40). During actuation of the switching element (30), the force (F) exerted on the switch (24) is conducted via the support contour (0) on to the bearing contour (72).
