Fermented beverages and their derivatives are filtered through fused powdered stainless steel. The filter has regularly spaced quasi-one dimensional pores. The filter has the same porosity and permeability at all points and this can be adjusted depending upon the liquid to be filtered. An Independent claim is included for the following: (1) a filtration device for performing as above has the filter within a sterilizable closed chamber; (2) a pump supplies the liquid to the chamber; and (3) a pressure regulator automatically stops the pump and opens a seal to drop the pressure to a given value. |
