<p>In a mineral surface and intermediate sealing system for waste tips and securing old contaminated sites, using industrial waste, the surface sealing or securing system comprises, in sequence, (A) a profiling layer, (B) a gas-permeable layer, (C) a mineral sealing layer, (D) a plastics sealing layer, (E) a protective and drainage mat, (F) a recultivation layer and (G) a vegetation layer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an intermediate cover for waste tips, comprising layers (A-E) inclusive, covered by tipped material; (b) the production, preparation and incorporation of the surface and intermediate sealing systems; (c) foundry waste sand and dust containing iron for road making in the tip region.</p> |
