摘要 1,092,070. Tobacco smoke filters. HON SHU SEISHI KABUSHIKI-KAISHA. July 2, 1965 [July 11, 1964], No. 28168/65. Heading A2C. [Also in Division D1 A thin sheet of low density for filter-tips of cigarettes is made by unravelling woodpulp fibres on to the outer surface of one end of a horizontal run of a moving endless wire gauze to form a continuous thin layer, spraying an adhesive on to the layer in such an amount that it soaks through the layer but does not reach the wire gauze, drying it and blowing compressed air from a nozzle having a slit directed against the inner surface of the wire gauze near the other end of the horizontal run, to continuously remove the sheet from the wire gauze, and blowing off from the gauze fibres that have not been bound into the sheet or become attached to the wire gauze. As shown, unravelled wood-pulp fibres are introduced at 6, passed through a screen 7 and laid on the upper surface of the wire gauze 8. Polyvinyl acetate emulsion is sprayed from a tube 9, but polyvinyl alcohol or its derivatives, or a polyester resin or mixtures thereof may be used instead. The web is then dried by hot air blown from an opening 10. Compresed air from a slit 11 then blows the web off the belt 8. Remnants of fibre are blown off by another nozzle 11<SP>1</SP>, and the finished web wound up at 5. Fibres remaining on the screen 7 are collected at 12. Hoods 13 and 16 have exhaust fans to remove loose fibres for recirculation. Hood 14 may serve the same purpose or discharge drying air.
