The system, designed to hold two bone fragments together, comprises a rod (22) with a penetrating end (23) and a gripping end (24) with opposite threads (25, 27), a nut (28) with a threaded hole for the gripping end thread, and a cutter with two jaws (40, 41). The rod and nut are made e.g. from a titanium-based material, and the edges of the cutter jaws are sharpened at an angle at least equal to the angle of the gripping thread. |
