In order to enter the access authorization to an installation that can be accessed by means of a data carrier (5) via an admittance terminal (8), which is provided with a data communications device (9) for reading and for reading and coding data on the data carrier (5), said data carrier (5) is coded with identification data. The identification data is, at the same time, applied to the data carrier (5) such that it is visible (6). The identification data is transmitted together with the access authorization data via a telecommunications device to the admittance terminal (8) and is stored therein. The data carrier (5) is identified at the admittance terminal (8) by comparing the identification data coded thereon with the stored identification data, whereupon the entered access authorization data is coded by the data communications device (9) on the identified data carrier (5).
