A biosensor showing a high accuracy in measuring a specific substance in a liquid sample which contains, in a reagent layer provided on an insulating substrate, a member selected from among sugar alcohols, metal salts, organic acids or organic acid salts having at least one carboxyl group per molecule and organic acids or organic acid salts having at least one carboxyl group and an amino group per molecule or a combination thereof, thereby achieving a high safety and a high responsiveness (sensitivity and linearity) to the substrate concentration of the sensor.
