A cold-curing coating composition of oxidatively-hardening resin obtained by combining (a) an epoxy-vinyl copolymer with (b) unsaturated fatty acid and (c) silicone resin, in which (a) is a copolymer of an unsaturated monomer with epoxide groups and an unsaturated comonomer, and (c) has hydroxyl and/or alkoxy groups attached to silicon. A coating composition (I) which hardens at normal temperature, comprising an oxidatively-hardening silicone-modified vinyl-based resin (A) obtained by combining (a) an epoxide group-containing vinyl copolymer with (b) an unsaturated fatty acid-containing fatty acid component and (c) a silicone resin. Component (a) is a copolymer of (m1) an epoxide group-containing polymerisable unsaturated monomer and (m2) an unsaturated comonomer, and silicone (c) has hydroxyl and/or alkoxy groups attached to silicon.
