<p>1,009,848. Pneumatic looms. ATELIERS DIEDERICHS S. A. March 17, 1962 [Jan. 8, 1962], No. 4626/62. Heading D1E. A loom has its sley, picking motion and shedding operated by pneumatic cylinders to which air is admitted by electro-magnetic valves controlled by electronic cyclical programmes and logic gates operating in conjunction with various loom stop motions. Shedding: (Figs. 3, 5) Heald frames 57 are shed by cylinder 54, elastic cables 60 and pulleys 59 which are enclosed in casings 53, 58 which have stepped members 61, 63 to shed the frames to different heights and cause the warps to lie in one plane. Picking, checking picking sticks and shuttles: (Figs. 1, 6) The shuttles 7 are picked from stationary boxes 65 by pickers 8 on picking sticks 6 actuated by cylinders 70. The picking sticks 6 are checked by pneumatic dampers 66, 25. The shuttle is checked (Fig. 6) by a swell 67 acted on by two spring loaded members 68 and, near the end of its movement by the picker which is acted on by a further member 69, for picking members 68, 69 are released by pressure from the picking cylinders 70. Beat-up motion: The sley 10 is operated by cylinders 14 (Fig. 2) and returned by springs 26, it is damped at front centre by a hydraulic-pneumatic damper 30 and at rear centre by a similar damper 27 and by spring actuated dampers 28 which act on the swords and are released by pressure from the cylinders 14 for beat-up. The sley is locked at back centre by a lock 29. Cloth removal: (Fig. 2) When sufficient cloth is woven the cloth beam 91 is lowered by cylinders 97 on to runways 100 to enable it to roll out of the loom. It may, alternatively, drop down on to a trolley. Control: The electronic programmer and logic gate circuits controls the loom in conjunction with a weft fork, warp stop motion, shuttle feelers, sley feelers, start and stop knobs, unweaving circuit, pick counter, and the electromagnetic valves controlling the various loom motions.</p> |
