The footstep bearing (16), for the spindle (11) of a textile machine, has an axial and a radial bearing in an outer housing (10), with a damper (13) between the two bearing sections. The axial bearing is a ball (15), ball cup or point at the bottom section of the housing (10). The radial bearing is a sleeve (12) holding the spindle shaft, with a ball pan (14) at its lower end on the ball (15) of the axial bearing. The curvature of the pan (14) is smaller than the curvature of the ball (15), ball cup or point. The ball (15), ball cup or point is hardened. The sleeve (12) of the radial bearing is of brass, bronze or plastics, with a length equal to the damper (13). The damper (13), preferably as a spiral plate strip, is in a damping medium. The footstep bearing (16) is a sliding bearing between the ball (15) and the sleeve (12). |
