<p>A three-axis accelerometer using a magnetic fluid comprises a single accelerometer to perform wide-range measurements evenly in all three directions without employing a seismographical structure. The accelerometer comprises a spherical weight; a spherical container storing the spherical weight; magnetic fluid enclosed between the weight and the spherical container; a plurality of magnets arranged on the surface of the spherical weight such that they alternately have opposite polarities to act on the magnetic fluid; and a plurality of pressure gauges for detecting the change in pressure of the magnetic fluid when an acceleration is applied to the spherical weight arranged on the surface of the spherical container.</p> |
