The chain drive uses a rotating chain wheel (1) with chain wheel teeth (9) cooperating with forked chain links (2) of the bucket chain, coupled together via sealed linkage bearings (15) with automatic lubrication of the latter during the bucket chain rotation. The flank bearing edges (12) of the chain wheel teeth engage the opposing bearing edges (11) of the chain wheel links when each of the latter is in the vertical position.
