The phase estimator (102) determines phase estimates of a received signal. The normalizer (104) normalizes the phase estimates so that the sum of their magnitudes may become 1. A phase compensator (103) provides compensation for the phase of the received signal using the normalized phase estimates. A RAKE combiner (105) combines the phase-compensated signals. An RSSI meter (108) measures RSSI using the signal from the RAKE combiner. An ISSI meter (109) measures ISSI using the signal from the RAKE combiner. A multiplier (106) multiplies the sum of the phase estimates by the signal from the RAKE combiner. The signal multiplied by the sum of the phase estimates undergoes error correction by an error corrector (107).
