Safety airbag mounting system for vehicles

This protection system has a safety airbag which, when not required, is fitted behind a vehicle trim panel. In a crash situation, the airbag emerges through an opening (5) covered by a flap (2) covering the mounting space for the bag. The flap (4) is partly connected to the trim panel and fastened by lashes (6) pushed through openings in the trim panel and which are shaped to grip behind the trim panel in the area of the opening.
