A system for selectively collecting solid urban waste comprising: arranging containers (1) of pre-established volume, for the different categories of waste to be collected; providing said containers (1) with identifying means (6) containing identifying data for identifying the single user availing of the collection service of said waste, the capacity of the single container (1) and the category of waste the container is intended to contain; supplying each said user with at least one of said containers (1), for each waste category involved in said collection service.
