A method of reporting an activity by a terminal use in a session over a network. The history of the session is stored in a server or the terminal. When a report on the activity is required, the stored history is provided to a service provider or the help unit in addition to a report on the activity so that the service provider or the help unit may correctly and precisely analyze the activity in view of the session history. The invention can be us ed in help request in a legacy mainframe system, online services and beta testing, etc., as well as in productivity analysis and audit trail in an online session. Other features enhance the us er- friendliness of the system.
