The invention concerns a cup (1) for anchoring in the acetabular bone (2) designed to act as sliding surface for a shell (16) comprising several bone anchoring processes, in particular: an annular contact portion (3) whereof the embossed protuberances (4) produce compression perpendicular to the cylindro-spherical region (5) adjacent to the opening plane (6) of the acetabular bone through strips substantially parallel to said opening plane (6) and radial grooves oriented towards the support pole (7); a polar supporting portion (7) in the form of a sphere portion, oblique relative to said opening plane (6) and oriented perpendicular relative to the direction of the resultant (8) of muscular forces (81) and gravity (82); a series of counter rotating ribs (9) radially arranged; at least a fixing plate (11) radially arranged relative to the equator (61) designed to receive fixing means (11), at least a through an orifice (12) of said cup (1) and designed to receive a pin (14).
