PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dents of a reed for a weaving machine simultaneously improved in wear resistance and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This dents of a reed have a composition in which nitrogen and carbon are compositely added to martensitic stainless steel within the range of 20<=Cr(%)/(C(%)+N(%))<=35 and also within the specified ranges prescribed by (α) satisfying the inequality (1)α-0.050<=N(%)<=α+0.025 and the formula (2)α=0.883×10 (0.046×Cr(%)-0.13×C(%)-1.57).
