PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a warp knitted fabric which has a knitted portion having a relatively high density and a lace portion connected to the knitted portion, wherein the knitted portion having a relatively high density can exhibit a function as a string. SOLUTION: This warp knitted fabric having a lace portion 2 in at least one portion of the knitted fabric, characterized by having a string portion 4 in which back surface warps BW(5) exposed on the back surface of the knitted fabric are knitted and which is integrally knitted with the lace portion 2, and insertion yarns 6 which are placed on the front surface side of the knitted fabric more than the back surface warps BW(5), repeatedly subjected to a prescribed swing treatment in the lateral direction of the fabric, and used for tightening the string portion 4 in the lateral direction of the knitted fabric.
