RIVET CRIMPING DEVICE AND RIVET MOUNTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rivet crimping device and a rivet mounting method capable of riveting a narrow part of a member that cannot be handled with a conventional device and handling even a short rivet without problem. SOLUTION: This device is used for crimping a rivet by applying a force in the axial direction to the rivet used for joining members. The device comprises a first shaft body that abuts to the head of the rivet and has an opening in the end surface abutting to the head of the rivet and a through hole in the axial direction connecting to the opening in it, a second shaft body abutting to the end surface of the shaft part of the rivet, a driving means for making the first shaft body approach to the second shaft body and crushing and crimping the rivet sandwiched between the first shaft body and the second shaft body, and a sucking means connected to the through hole in the first shaft body. The rivet crimping device is capable of sucking the rivet to the end surface of the first shaft body by operating the sucking means.
