PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toolholder that can hold a shank portion 4b of a tool 4 with sufficient gripping force and thus ensure appreciable cutting. SOLUTION: A some 1/100 taper hole portion 1b is formed so as to open on the tip of a holder body 1 and taper over the internal surface of the tip portion of the body 1 toward the back end, and a similar taper to that of the holder body 1 is formed over the external surface of a body 3a of a taper collet 3. The tip portion of the body 3a has a flange portion 3b projecting from the external surface. The shank portion 4b of the tool 4 fitted in the body 3a is pressed in the hole portion 1b of the holder body 1 and then gripped via the body 3a of the collet 3. A detent pin 2 is screw-fitted in a tapped hole 1c that radially perforates through to the center of the holder body 1, until the inner end of the pin 2 is engaged in a notch portion 3c at the back end of the collet 3.
