PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organosilane polysulfide having slight color and smell. SOLUTION: An organosilylalkylpolysulfane of formula I is manufactured by reacting an organosilylalkyl halogenide of general formula II with an anhydrous or almost anhydrous ionic sulfide and elemental sulfur. In this process, the elemental sulfur and the organosilylalkyl halogenide are charged into a polar organic solvent, and the ionic sulfide is charged into the resulting suspension. (R1R2R3SiR4)2SX (I) [wherein, R1 to R3 are each a 1-8C alkyl and/or a 1-8C alkoxy, or an aryl, and one or more alkoxy groups are present; R4 is a 1-8C divalent alkylene or (CH2)nC6H4(CH2)n (wherein, n=1-4; and x>1)]. R1R2 R3SiR4X (II) [wherein, R1 to R4 are same as defined above; and X is chlorine, bromine or iodine].
