PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite member producing method and a composite member producing apparatus with which the penetration property of molten metal into a preformed body formed from a composite member is stabilized and the occurrence of breakage in the preformed body can be restrained and the producing efficiency of the composite member can be improved. SOLUTION: The preform PF as the preformed body formed from the composite member, is held into a holding vessel 11 provided with a containing space in the inner part. Then, the preform PF is preheated in a preheating furnace 21 together with the holding vessel 11 and the preheated holding vessel 11 is charged into a casing device 31, and the molten metal is poured and pressurized into the holding vessel 11 to penetrate into the preform PF and form the composite member.
