PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording material having high ink absorbability and glossiness, excellent printing density and color developability and a high surface strength and to obtain high transparency when a transparent support is used. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording material comprises an ink acceptive layer containing a vapor-phase method silica and a hydrophilic binder and coating a support. In this case, as the silica, two types of a monodisperse silica A having a mean particle size of a primary particle of 3 to less than 10 nm and a dispersing degree of 1 or less and a monodisperse silica B having a mean particle size of a primary particle of 10 to 30 nm and a dispersing degree of 1 or less are adopted. A weight ratio A/B of the silica A to the silica B is in a range of 10/90 to 80/20. Preferably, the ratio A/B is in a range of 20/80 to 50/50. |
