PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pigment-based recording liquid capable of carrying out the recording without causing unevenness of recording and improved in preservation stability and to provide a method for using the recording liquid. SOLUTION: This recording liquid comprises a pigment, water and a compound having a hydrophilic site, a hydrophobic site and including functions. The compound having the including functions is at least one kind selected from cyclodextrins, steroids and calixarenes. A cyclodextrin represented by α-cyclodextrin, β-cyclodextrin or γ-cyclodextrin or the like or derivatives of the cyclodextrin are used as the cyclodextrins. |
