PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a head therefor each being in a low price and in a low power consumption and not requiring a standby time at printing. SOLUTION: This head for the printer comprises an electronic paper constituted such that an electrode layer is provided on a substrate paper, a plurality of microcapsules are coated on the electrode layer and a transparent overcoat layer is provided on the coated microcapsules. The head further comprises a recording electrode for applying a voltage to the electronic paper in response to an electric signal, an erasing electrode for erasing the data recorded on the electronic paper and a mother electrode for supplying a power source to the electrode layer on the electronic paper. The printer is equipped with at least the above head. |
