PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubrication system for escalator or moving sidewalk provided with a lubrication container connected to a lubrication point via a line, wherein a step belt of an escalator or a plate belt of a moving sidewalk is guided between side face boundaries. SOLUTION: In this lubrication system, a lubricant container 7 is connected to a lubrication point 9 arranged on a base plate 3 forming a side face boundary of a step belt 4 or a plate belt via a line. A slide pad 6 is provided on escalator steps 5 of the step belt 4 or on a plate of the plate belt. The slide pad 6 slightly protrudes from the side edge of the escalator steps 5 or of the moving sidewalk plate in order to take lubricant and transfer it to the base plate 3 when sliding and passing the lubrication point 9.
