PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved and correct method for lifting in safety, capable of being permitted when a load is lifted up by a lifting sling connected to a lifting device. SOLUTION: In this method for lifting a load 13 by a lifting sling 10 having at least two legs 10a, 10b connected to the load 13 at two connecting points 14a, 14b, a user checks whether a horizontal length between the connecting points is not over a horizontal limit length HLL, in addition to the observation of a working limit load WLL, instead of checking an inclination angle of each sling leg.
