PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure riding comfort by continuing adjustments of damping forces when the acceleration of horizontal vibration is within a threshold value although damper speed is excessive. SOLUTION: This system is provided with an excessive damper speed monitoring part 16 for detecting that the damper speed determined according to a detection signal of a displacement sensor 8 is excessive, and an acceleration over-range monitoring part 15 for detecting that the acceleration of the horizontal vibration of a vehicle body, obtained from an acceleration sensor 5, reaches the threshold value. When the acceleration of the horizontal vibration of the vehicle body, detected by the acceleration over-range monitoring part 15, does not reach the threshold value although the damper speed detected by the excessive damper speed monitoring part 16 is excessive, a damping force adjustment valve is allowed to continue damping force control, and when reaching the threshold valve, the valve is urged to assume a passive state.
