PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jacket for an artificial joint stem capable of largely reducing shearing stress which is harmful to life of an artificial joint, and minimizing fusion of a thighbone by penetration of abrasive grains. SOLUTION: This jacket 10 for an artificial joint stem is capable of covering at least a part of an artificial joint stem inserted in the length direction. into a hole formed in a bone cavity in a human body. The jacket 10 is manufactured of cement, and a synthetic resin layer 12 having excellent abrasion resistance may be coated on an inner surface of it. The cement jacket 10 may be reinforced with inserted iron bars or fibers. In the surface of the jacket 10, discharge passages 13 are formed along the length of the jacket 10 in such a way that excessive parts of cement glue preliminarily injected into the bone cavity to be usable in operation can be easily discharged upward when the jacket 10 is inserted.
