PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the smooth sure succession of grain culms and thereby reduce the disturbance of transferring grain culms. SOLUTION: Together with a root-side conveyor (35), a front-side feeding conveyor chain (36) is constructed so that the speed of the conveyor chain varies synchronously with a traveling speed. The front-side position of the front-side feeding conveyor chain (36), an ear tip-side transferring terminal region where the terminal end of an ear tip-side conveyor (34) of a grain culm- transferring mechanism (10) placed on the side of a reaping section (8) almost overlaps the terminal position of the root-side conveyor (35) and the terminal position of the root-side conveyor (35) are arranged in such a manner that they almost coincide with a grain culm-transferring posture. The front-side feeding conveyor chain (36) and the main feeding conveyor chain (5) are each independently strained. A pilot guide (99) for pressing and cramping grain culms resiliently is placed on the upper side of the receiving end-side of the front-side feeding conveyor chain (36). Pilot guides (103) (104) for pressing and cramping grain culms resiliently are placed on the upper side of the main feeding conveyor chain (5).
