PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent backlash noises, improve the returning property of a steering wheel and reduce the number of part items. SOLUTION: A worm 71 which operates as a steering assisting motor 6 rotates is rotatably supported within a housing 8 via a sliding bearing 9 made of synthetic resin, and when the worm 71 is pressed in the radial direction away from a worm wheel 72, the worm 71 is moved radially away from the worm wheel 72 by virtue of the flexibility of the sliding bearing 9 to prevent torque clogging and improve the returning property of the steering wheel while preventing backlash noises. |
