PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain inexpensive sustainedly hydrophilic fiber and fiber assembly each benign to the skin, rich in hydrophilicity, high in durability, and suitable as a sanitary material in the form of paper diaper, sanitary towel facing material, makeup puff, etc., filter, wiper, wet tissue, etc. SOLUTION: The subject fiber high in sustained hydrophilicity and benign to the skin is obtained by applying fiber surface with a specified amount of a surfactant containing sericin and an alkylphosphoric ester alkali metal salt. Furthermore, if a polyhydric alcohol fatty acid ester is included in the above surfactant, another version of the fiber suitable as a facing material for sanitary materials can be obtained. |
