PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone rubber composition having a high rate of cure, excellent safety and hygienic qualities, and capable of achieving continuous hot air cure at a normal pressure without generating voids and surface tack upon extrusion cure, and a silicone rubber covered electric wire using the silicone rubber composition having excellent dielectric strength due to the absence of microvoids and capable of obtaining molded articles which do not require a dusting powder due to the absence of surface tack, and furthermore having excellent cut strippability necessary for treating the cut end of a wire. SOLUTION: The silicone rubber composition comprises (A) an organosiloxane represented by average composition formula (1): R1aSiO(4-a)/2 (wherein R1 is a substituted or nonsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group; and a is an positive number of 1.8-2.3), (2) an inorganic filler, and (3) an organic peroxide represented by structural formula (2) (wherein R2 is the same or different hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups; R3 is an alkylene group; and n is an integer of 1-3). |
