PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll unit equipped with a detection means capable of certainly detecting predetermined data such as the kind or width dimension of a roll sheet at the time of feed of the roll sheet by simple constitution and capable of being reduced in size and cost, and electronic instrument. SOLUTION: The support shaft 62 of one unit holder 52 is inserted in the cylindrical hole 76 of a winding core 75 from one end of the winding core 75 around which the roll sheet 51 is wound. The support cylinder 58 of a flange gear 54 is inserted from the other end of the cylindrical hole 76 and the support shaft 66 of other unit holder 53 is inserted in the cylindrical hole 76 of the winding core 75 through the support cylinder 58 of the flange gear 54. Succeedingly, the female joint part 70 formed to the leading end of the support shaft 66 of the other unit holder 53 is pushed in the male joint part 69, which is formed to the leading end of the support shaft 62 of the unit holder 52, under pressure to be joined to the male joint part to constitute the roll sheet unit 14.
