PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable power cutting machine which can do an edge cutting work by a simple operation. SOLUTION: A portable circular saw provided with a surface plate 1 having a sliding face which is slidable along a workpiece to be cut, and a circular saw body 4 to which a rotary saw blade 3 rotated by an electro motor 2 is fitted. The circular saw body 4 is positioned forward from the front edge of the surface plate 1, and disposed so as to make the angle adjustable between the state that a right-angled condition where the cutting direction of the saw blade 3 is normal to the surface plate 1 and the condition slanted in the direction that the cutting side of the saw blade 3 is displaced toward the front of the surface plate 1. As for the electric motor 2, it is slantingly disposed so that the rotary axis directs the head side downward to the upright saw blade 3. Even if the circular saw body 4 is reclined to the rearward for the edge cutting, a motor housing 9 does not interfere with the surface plate 1.
