PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centering gauge centering the knife edge position of a bore machining tool against a plane including a turret center line of rotation. SOLUTION: A U-cross sectional groove 2c for fitting an outer machining tool is provided on the main spindle side end 2b of a lathe turret 2. The side face of the U-cross sectional groove 2c made parallel with the main spindle axis when the turret 2 is indexed is used as a fitting reference surface 2f. This centering gauge is provided with a rectangular solid base part 7a abutting on the fitting reference surface 2f, an arm part 7b extending from the base part 7a, and a knife edge reference surface 7c provided at the tip of the arm part 7b and abutting on the knife edge 5e of the bore machining tool for the centering of the knife edge 5e.
