PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition comprising a ligand agonist agent by finding out that a three-element complex is formed from a growth hormone together with its receptors in which a 1:2 complex is produced by initially binding a site 1 on the hormone to one receptor molecule and then binding a hormone site 2 to another receptor molecule. SOLUTION: As a result of studies on the three-element complex, it has been determined that a selected antibody against the receptors of a ligand is capable of acting as the ligand agonist agent or a ligand antagonist agent. New uses related to the new growth hormone and the antigrowth hormone receptor antibody are provided.
