PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make manufacturable a substrate having a sharp coated end shape by solving such problem of occurring of phenomenon of a thinned shape, broken shape or tailing shape in the start point/end point of coating, which are observed in the conventional application of coating liquid for applying the coating liquid discharged from a nozzle with the relative movement of the substrate to a nozzle stripe-like on a substrate. SOLUTION: The speed of a coating heat moving in the coating liquid coating direction on the substrate is changed during a time from the starting of the discharge of the coating liquid to the stopping of the applying of the coating liquid in the relation to the point of time to conduct or break the pressure of a gas from a gas pressurizing source kept to a set pressure to a gas space of the coating head by opening or closing an opening/closing means provided among them.
