PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately recognize a position of a portion of a subject in a view from an ultrasonic probe. SOLUTION: The outer surface of the ultrasonic probe 11 is provided with indication marks Ma, Mb, Me as indications of a scan directional position on a scan surface. A DSC 14 is capable of displaying position mark labels ma, mb, mc corresponding to the indication marks Ma, Mb, Mc on a screen of a CRT 5. The DSC 14 is capable of displaying, on the screen of a CRT 5, position guide labels ga, gb, gc for indicating the position on the screen corresponding to the position mark labels ma, mb, mc. An extracted lesion image x exists on the position guide label gc corresponding to the position mark label mc, and the position mark label mc corresponds to the indication mark Mc of the ultrasonic probe 11, so that the lesion X is recognized to exit just under the indication mark Mc.
