Apparatus for intermittently feeding a series of beer-can tops (not shown) along a path so as to present them in succession to a plurality of operation stations where operations are performed in sequence comprises a pair of drums 12, 13 and an endless stainless steel belt 14 with holes 31 to carry the beer can tops. The belt 14 is driven intermittently under a hopper 32 containing a stack of the tops by a drive 19, orientation of the belt 14 with respect to the drum 12 being maintained by sprocket discs 25, Fig. 4 (not shown), co-operating with sprocket holes 30, Fig. 5 (not shown), along the edges of the belt 14. The belt 14 may be any suitable substantially non-stretchable material. Only one sprocket disc 25 and one set of sprocket holes may be provided. The holes 31 may be replaced by other work-holders to suit other workpieces. |
